We are looking for a Lead Meta Game Designer to join the development of an unannounced AAA multiplayer-shooter. We care deeply about this project and believe in what we are building. We are looking for someone who can share our ambition to create the best possible game and who wants to be an active part of shaping it. The Senior Meta Game Designer will design, document, implement, and iterate on the game's metagame systems and long-term player experience. This role requires a hands-on designer who can take ownership of progression, economy, LiveOps, and other meta features, collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines, and ensure that every system supports the game's core loops, player engagement and overall product vision. The designer is expected to own features throughout their full lifecycle - from concept and implementation to balancing, launch, and post-release iteration. Responsibilities Own the design and long-term evolution of metagame systems. Design and implement meta systems that enhance progression, engagement, and long-term retention. Work closely with design leadership and vision owners to ensure meta systems reinforce the game's core pillars, player fantasy, and product vision. Define feature goals, player journeys, success metrics, and KPIs. Produce clear design documentation, user flows, balancing specifications, and feature requirements. Collaborate with Engineering, UI/UX, Art, Production, Analytics, QA, and other design disciplines. Prototype, configure, and iterate features using engine tools and data-driven workflows. Balance progression pacing, economies, resource generation, and reward structures. Own features throughout the entire development lifecycle, from concept through implementation, iteration, and release. Participate in playtests and drive improvements based on feedback. Requirements 5+ years of professional Game Design experience. Experience shipping at least one multiplayer or live-service title. Strong expertise in metagame systems, progression, economy, and LiveOps. Experience designing systems for competitive and/or cooperative online games. Strong understanding of player motivation, retention, engagement, and game economies. Advanced balancing skills using spreadsheets and data analysis tools. Experience working with Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary game engines. Strong written communication and design documentation skills. Ability to independently own complex features while collaborating across multiple disciplines. Broad knowledge of multiplayer games, especially FPS titles, with the ability to identify industry best practices, evaluate their trade-offs, and apply them appropriately. Professional-level English/Russian communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on FPS or extraction shooter titles. Experience designing matchmaking, MMR, or ranked progression systems. Experience with virtual economies, monetization, and progression systems. Knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar data analysis and scripting tools. Familiarity with Unreal Engine data-driven workflows (Data Assets, Data Tables, Gameplay Ability System). Experience supporting games after launch through LiveOps. Understanding of analytics platforms and telemetry pipelines.
